Aarush inaugurated at SRM University

The five-day fest of SRM University in Kattankulathur, Aarush, was inaugurated by Centre for Air Borne Systems director, Dr S Christopher, in the presence of vice-chancellor M Ponnavaikko and registrar N Sethuraman.

The festival will feature 57 events, including six online events like gaming, which was highly popular among participants from technical and management institutions from different parts of India.

Aaruush has tied up with NGOs like HOPE, PETA, Fifth Pillar, Aid India, WWF, CRY and India against Corruption. Young entrepreneurs would also be interacting with the students at panel discussions.

Dr Christopher highlighted how airborne systems evolved over the years, and made a PowerPoint presentation about the role played by his organisation in development of LCAs and other aircraft.

Later, he inspected the vehicles designed by the university students. They included an all-terrain vehicle and a high-speed prototype racing car, which won honours in the ‘best marketed car category’ in the recent competition organised by Society for Automobile Engineers.
