Remembering Sivaji Ganesan

Late actor Sivaji Ganesan does not have just fans, but ardent, devoted fans - even after his death. Members of the ‘Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Samooga Nala Peravai’ would be observing his 10th death anniversary, which falls on July 21, Thursday, in Chennai.

According to a note from Peravai state president K Chandrasekaran, there would be a special poor feeding (annadhanam) at the Kapaleeswarar temple in Mylapore, on Thursday morning.

The annadhanam function would be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting S Jagathrakshagan on the temple premises at 12 Noon.

Chandrasekaran would preside over the function in the presence of Kavignar Kasimuthumanickam and Chennai Corporation councillor M Velayudham.

In the evening, the Sivaji Peravai will be distributing food and clothes at a home for the blind in Irattaikuzhi Theru in north Chennai.

Congress leader and ex-MLA H Vasantha Kumar, north Chennai Congress leader R Mano, Chandrasekaran and Zone 7 councillor P Padma Boopalan would be the guests of honour at the function being organised by the north Chennai branch of the Peravai.
