Benjarong restaurant, serving real Thai cuisine with conventional and rich flavours, is hosting Loi Krathong Festival till November 27. This festival of light greets you to light a lamp, set it afloat on a banana leaf raft, and watch where luck takes you. Every Full Moon Day of November, the people of Thailand pay their tribute to the spirit of waters. The tradition is to light a candle, make a wish and float it in a water body on a fist-sized banana leaf raft.
Benjarong was conceptualised a decade ago to provide Indian consumers with genuine Thai cuisine. From the ubiquitous soups, stir-fries, satays and curries to exotic dishes, there is something to please everybody’s palate at Benjarong. The light festival aims to create awareness of its outstanding Thai cuisine, flavoured with exotic Thai herbs and delicate sauces.
The Loi Krathong Festival has specialty offerings like Tom Kati Poo (traditional Thai coconut cream soup with crab meat), Kaeng Pa Poteak-Seafood (a typical Thai spicy curry with seafood), Kanna Pahd Normai Farang (stirfried asparagus and broccoli and pokchoy in light soya sauce), Khao Pahd Gae Hem (salted lamb fried rice), Grui-Kaak (crusty batter fried sesame banana fritters with coconut ice cream) and many more timeless Thai classics to relish.
