Onion thokku

Ingredients

Onion - 250 gm
Tamarind - Size of a small ball
Red chillies – 7
Gingelly oil - 4 spoons
Mustard - 1 spoon
Turmeric powder - ¼ spoon
Salt to taste

Method

Wash and cut the onions into pieces and fry it along with red chillies and tamarind in a pan. Grind it in a mixer to form a paste. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard and add onion paste, salt, turmeric powder and stir for five minutes.

Onion thokku is ready to be consumed with idli, dosai, bhajji…
