3-day Abhang festival at Adambakkam

It is as if Pandarpur has been transported to Adambakkam, a Chennai suburb. The temple for lord Pandurangan and Rukmayee, as found in Pandarpur, has been constructed in the Karpaga Vinayagar Temple complex, Shanthi Nagar, Adambakkam, where poojas and festivals are conducted on a daily basis, similar to those in Pandarpur.

The bagavathas of Shri Vittal Bhajan Mandali are all set to conduct an annual Abhanga Sammelan this January. Many leading exponents of Abhang and bhajans from across the country will participate in the festival.

The festival will be held for three days from January 27.

Tukaram Ganapathy, maharaj of Kadayanallur, will inaugurate the festival as also the ‘Jagadguru Sri Tukaram Maharaj Nama Sankeerthana Mandapam’.

As the programme is expected to draw thousands of people on all days, arrangements are being made on a large scale to provide annadhanam for all the devotees, on all the three days.
