The renowned music director Harris Jayaraj will present a series of concerts as part of his world tour, titled Harris: On The Edge.
The show will start off at Chennai, on the East Coast Road (ECR) on October 2. It will be held at Mayajaal, following which it will be held at Coimbatore on October 16, Hyderabad on October 22 and the team will travel to Dubai and perform on November 18. Shows will also be performed at Europe and Canada in 2012. .Harris said, "It has been a decade since I began composing and many have asked me in recent years why I haven't performed live. The main reason was that I was doubtful if I could hold a crowd for three hours. I didn't want my audience to get restless. I wanted my concert to be an audio visual treat." Harris will be collaborating with a leading tech firm that will provide cutting-edge technology to the concert, a part of which will be in 3D. The organizers claim that that the stage will be among the biggest in the world, with a 270-degree view. International musicians and dancers have been roped in for the concert, which will also feature leading singers Karthik, Haricharan, Chinmayi, Tippu, Harini and Naresh Iyer among others. The concert is being directed by Vijay (of Madrassapattinam fame).
Talking about his plans for the concert, Harris said, "We will be performing about 25 songs with the original singers singing them. And for the first time, I will be singing as well. The first two concerts - in Chennai (October 2) and Coimbatore (October 16) - will feature only my Tamil hits (including songs from the yet-to-be released 7am Arivu), while the Hyderabad concert (October 22) will feature Telugu and Hindi hits
