The dream team of director A R Murugadoss, actor Suriya, music director Harris Jeyaraj-- is back – this time with a mega entertainer ‘7aum Arivu’. The audio CD and trailer of the movie were released at a spectacular function held at Chennai Trade Centre September 22 evening, watched by a host of stars and special invitees.
Shruti Haasan makes her debut in Tamil as a heroine in her own right. Dressed in a simple, white saree, Shruti said she was fortunate to launch her Tamil career with such a big team, and the backing of Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies, which has produced the film at a staggering cost.
Suriya said when Murugadoss met him to discuss the film, he asked the director to make it really big since there would be high expectations after their spectacular success in ‘Gajini’. It should be a big entertainer, the likes of which they could not do for at least another five years.
He had a word of praise for music director Harris Jeyaraj, who, he said, had produced many wonderful hits in all his films. He also showered praise on Johhny Nguyen, who plays the baddie in the film, for his expertise in martial arts and for the patience he showed while doing the movie, especially the stunning climax fight scene.
Murugadoss said the film would make every Tamil proud. It would set Tamil cinema on the global map. He said he was proud, even arrogant, that such a good film could be made in Tamil Nadu. The movie is slated for Deepavali release.
Harris Jeyaraj thanked Murugadoss and Suriya for giving him the opportunity to work again in another mega project which would be a super hit.
Actor Dhanush released the trailer and audio CD of the film. Directors K S Ravikumar, Vijay and Lingusamy wished the unit success with ‘7aum Arivu’.
The event, compered by actor Jai, witnessed several song and dance sequences (some by actor Lakshmi Rai) from the film and also a medley of hits by Harris Jeyaraj and Suriya.
Udhayanidhi Stalin said he was happy that his unit got the opportunity to produce the film.
