‘Anjanaa nandanam veeram janaki soka naasanam
Kabeesamaksha hantharam vandhe lanka bayankaram’
Hanumath jayanthi commemorates the birth of Sri Hanuman – believed to be an incarnation of lord Shiva. lord Hanuman symbolises strength and unparalleled devotion and selfless service. He is the greatest devotee of Lord Ram and he is a brahmachari and humility is his hallmark.
‘Sanjalam Pokkum Sanjeevi Rayar’ was installed at Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, Walajapet, Sri Muralidhara Swamigal on April 1, 2007.

Says a note from the peedam that lord Hanuman was installed with the top open to the skies as he is the son of Vayu, the wind god, and no space can bind him. In his abode here, lord Hanuman carries the sanjeevani mountain, the life-giving herb using which he revived Lakshmana during the battle with Ravana. The mountain held by him weighs 300 kg. Lord Hanuman was installed with the help of a crane wherein he was lowered on to his designated pedestal from the top.
There are nine different facets of lord Hanuman on the nine steps that lead to the idol. They represent the Navagrahas. As you walk up to the main idol, you have darshan of the nine forms, which in itself helps one get rid of the nava doshas. They are often referred to as the Nava Ilakkana Purushar or the Nava Vyakarna Pandidhar.
Sri Muralidhara Swamigal has made special arrangements for Hanumath jayanthi celebrations in a grand manner. There will be special pancha diravya abishekam, vada maalai, vethalai maalai, vennai saathu, thulasi maalai and fruit maalai.
As Hanumath jayanthi falls on Saturday, December 24, almost immediately after Sani Peyarchi, it is advisable to offer prayers to lord Hanuman to remove the malaefic effects of the Navagrahas and pray for global welfare.
The note adds that all devotees are welcome to participate in Hanumath jayanthi and get his bountiful blessings.
