Chennai, Sept 3: More rains have been predicted for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, which have been experiencing fairly good rains for quite some time now. The meteorological department says that a low pressure area over Bay of Bengal is likely to bring more rains to coastal Tamil Nadu and neighbouring Puducherry.
The South-West Monsoon has been active over Rayalaseema and heavy rain is expected over coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next couple of days.
A low pressure area has formed over west central and northwest bay, off Andhra Pradesh and south Orissa.
Fisherfolks in the costal districts have been advised not to venture into the high seas as strong winds and heavy rainfall may prove hazardous.
The department says Chennai may get occasional sunshine as the sky will be generally cloudy. It may experience one or two spells of rain.
