Australia piles up runs

Powered by double centuries from Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting, Australia piled up a huge 604 for 7 declared on the second day of the fourth and final cricket test at Adelaide Oval.  The duo added 386 runs for the fourth wicket.  The fifth highest partnership for the fourth wicket.  Clarke scored 210 before he was bowled by Umesh Yadav.  The second double Century of Clarke in the series.  Ricky Ponting went on to complete his double ton and finally consumed by Zahir Khan for 221.  The eighth wicket pair of Harris and Hayden added 71 runs in a tailored blood streak with Harris scoring 35 not out and Haddin 42 not out.  Ashwin was the most successful Indian bowler  with 3 for 194.  Zahir Khan claimed two wickets.The reply from India at the usual hiccups with standing skipper Sehwag and Rahul Dravid departing early leaving India at 31 for 2.  Gambhir (30 not out) and Tendulkar (12 not out) saw through the day when India was 61 for 2.
